My sister in law recently sent us this picture of Chris and I, with our precious grandson, Phoenie.
There is something that draws my attention to Phoenie’s face.
It’s the wonder in his eyes and the anticipation of what’s coming next.
It’s the look of hope.
Phoenie is confident in our love and trusting in our hold.
So many big people lose their zest for life.
What happens to their wide-eyed anticipation for adventure?
Why does their hope flicker and eventually get snuffed out?
People reject God’s love and His hold on their lives.
Earth’s crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God,
But only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round and pluck blackberries.
