(painting by Elizabeth Crouse)
A young and dear friend created and gifted me with this beautiful painting.
Jonathan Edwards was a preacher, philosopher and theologian in the 1700’s and he wrote 70 resolutions about overall life mission, good works, time management, relationships, suffering, character and spiritual life.
Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God’s help, I do humbly entreat him by his grace to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to his will, for Christ’s sake.
I have been asking myself lately, “Am I living with all my might, while I do live?”
Every tick of the clock is a fresh second to live. Am I living with intention? Enthusiasm? Hope?
Lately? Not so much.
The past couple of weeks have been emotionally difficult but I am slowly making my way upward and onward. I don’t want to waste my days on things that don’t matter, people who don’t care or circumstances I can’t change. I want to get up in the morning with an attitude of thankfulness and live wholeheartedly. Fully.
Be the woman God intended me to be.
Over and over the Bible says: intensity matters. Zeal matters. Wholeheartedness matters. Don’t settle for anything less. We exist to spread a passion for the supremacy of God. You can’t spread what you don’t have. Ask God for it in constant prayer and ransack the Word of God for wonders that make you boil for Christ. John Piper
It has been and it will be again.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Romans 12.11
