I knew it was coming.
The sore throat started a couple of days ago. I mentioned this to Chris but I didn’t get much sympathy because apparently, his sore arms from a work-out the day before trumped my sore throat. (You know how it is, ladies, right? 🙂
The sniffles crept in yesterday and the out-of-control sneezing kept me quite busy last night. I thought I would get ahead of it all by taking some Oil of Oregano and tucking myself into bed early last night. I did have a marvellous sleep – I woke up 10.5 hours later – but I felt absolutely terrible.
So, it looks like a day full of nothing.
I confess that I fought the idea of a unproductive day but it took me about five minutes of standing up to make me surrender to whatever ails this body. I had big plans for the day – cleaning, bringing up the Christmas decorations from the boat house, making soup, writing and tutoring – but this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice, be glad in it and crawl back into bed.
I do believe there are times when God truly does make me lie down in green pastures. (Psalm 23.2)
I have a new book that I’ve been wanting to crack so if I do muster up a little energy later today, it will be put towards leaning over to pick the book off my night table, snuggling back under the covers and reading until I fall asleep…yet again.
