A Grief Observed

We all get ’em.

Down days.

Shadowy days.

Pajama wearing, slow moving, tear filling, nap taking, chocolate eating days.

Sometimes the emotions leak. Sometimes they flood and splash all over.

Life can really hurt.

But I am not alone. So today, I choose to stay with the feelings, climb into bed, nestle under some blankets, turn off the phone and talk to Jesus about it for a while.

I need to unplug.

This is how grief feels to me . . . and every loss requires grieving.  It’s messy, painful and necessary.

You can close the door on grief, but it will peek in through the window.  Author unknown
