A Little Ruffled

I recently had the opportunity to listen to a very powerful and humble woman talk about the conditions in Malawi . . . and I have to admit, it ruffled my feathers.

As some of you know, I’m heading to Malawi and Zambia in May 2016. As I listened to this woman’s stories, it unnerved me and the lies started flooding my mind.

You can’t do this.

Who are you to think you can be part of this team?

What could you possibly offer to these people in Africa?

It’s going to be too difficult for you. You won’t be able to keep up.

You’re too old to do this.

You’re so comfortable in your little house on the water. Stay there.

This morning, when I saw this on FB, I responded with a resounding, “YES” in my heart.

Here I am. Send me

No question, I have concerns and questions but more importantly, I have a strong sense that this is where I’m supposed to be next May – on the WOW Counselling Team (check them out on FB – Out of Silence: Wow Counselling Team) and in the hands of a faithful, loving and caring God.

There will be moments when I tremble — these are the times when I need to fix my eyes on Him.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.

Proverbs 18.10 NASB

Good Diane. His still small voice will lead you. Hugs.

Thanks, Kathy. One day at a time.

  2. Jessie Burgess

You will be in God’s hands as you go to Africa in May, 2016. He will enable you to do all He wants you to do. Remember Diane, you have a host of prayer partners that will also lift you and the WOW up every day to do His work. xo ‘Mrs. B’

Thanks for the reminder, Mrs. B. Always an encouraging word from you. How much I treasure that!

  3. Diane, I like how timely God’s reminders are for us. Your heart is in the right place, and this is what matters most because you’re Spirit-filled and Spirit-led.
    Blessings ~ Wendy

Ah…soothing words from a new friend. Thanks, Wendy.
