A little shiver – a big God

This was a good moment.

When my son was a little boy, he loved it when I gave him a back massage before he went to bed.  He would often ask for “Treasure Map” because it would make him giggle as I drew the map on his back and said the following rhyme:

“Here is a treasure map ( a big square )

“x” marks the spot (  a big X )

With a dot and a line (  the corresponding motion)

and a tickle down the spine ( tickle his back from the neck down)

and the wind in the trees ( blow on his neck)

and a tight squeeze.”  ( softly squeeze his neck)

Well, I have continued this little tradition with my grandson.  We read some books, pray together and  more times than not, Phoenie will ask for “Treasure Map.”

Last night, after squeezing his neck, I gave him a big hug and asked him, ” Did that make you shiver?”

Phoenie looked at me and said, “No, Nana…God makes me shiver.”

I can’t believe it…Karen’s response was exactly what I was going to say.

From God’s lips to out hearts and ears….

God bless the little children who speak truth.

I agree, with being a child comes both innocence and blunt-ness 🙂
