Doesn’t get much better than “lazy-boy” seating at a movie theatre, with popcorn in our laps . . . (and I don’t mean Chris is the lazy boy.)
Don’t you just love it when you stumble onto a secret find? I mean, Chris and I had no idea that we were going to hit the jack pot when we spontaneously decided to head to Barrie for a movie. We were already half way to Barrie when we were visiting a friend in the Orillia hospital so we decided to carry on south (well, when you’re in Orillia, you seem to be able to drive north on West Street South so it’s hard to know exactly which direction you’re actually going at any given time through this city) and check out a small theatre in Barrie.
Little did we know that this theatre would have such a small town feeling, the admission would be considerably less expensive AND the seats would be bigger. How good is that?
I asked Chris about what stood out most about the experience:
“I couldn’t get over how utterly comfortable I was. There was lots of room around me, the chair was so comfortable that I didn’t fidget. I don’t think I moved once throughout the entire movie.”
(I would have to say that Chris did indeed move once in a while so he could reach the snacks!)
We felt like we were in our own home. The movie was great (I’d highly recommend the movie – Eye in the Sky) and although the popcorn was a bit too salty, we didn’t have any trouble finishing the bag. Good thing I brought some M&Ms with me to munch on.
It’s so cool to find places like this in our travels. We recently stumbled on a great little restaurant that serves fresh Mexican food – and it’s right in our home town!
I love the simplicity of these kinds of experiences. Throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater, jump in the car and head out together. Time to talk, hold hands, explore and laugh a little.
Uncomplicated way to invest in our marriage.
Thanks, Chris for a great date!
