My friend recently emailed this message – she nor I can find the original author of this statement but it bears repeating.
Christians are Easter people living in a Good Friday world.
Tony Campollo once said, “It’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming.”
The Good Friday message of sorrow, pain and suffering in our personal lives and of others in the world will indeed intersect with the Easter Sunday message of God’s love, mercy and transforming, life-giving power over sin and death.
We feel the emotion of both.
And we wait with hope.
