You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake, He became poor, that you through His poverty might become flesh. 2 Corinthians 8.9
The symbol’s dark arrow points downward – Jesus came from His heavenly throne to this earth so black with sin. The white arrow points upward – because Jesus came down to our lowliness, we are raised up to a new life of peace with God, joy of salvation and hope for a rich and glorious life with Him in heaven.
PRAYER: We lift up grateful hearts to You, dear Jesus, for coming down to earth so that we can go to heaven. Amen.
Every Christmas Eve, when our children were young, our family would reenact the Christmas story. As I recall, dad was always made to be the donkey and I managed to “flutter my wings” as the angel. We all have good memories of that tradition. We also bundled up and trekked through Fairy Lake to watch the live nativity scene, with real animals and little children standing on the hill as angels. All this to say that the video below certainly brings back good and humorous memories.
As Thomas Brooks so effectively affirms in this quote, ” Miss Christ and you miss all.”
