This year, it was my daughter, Dawne and her son, Phoenix who took the first plunge into the lake. Well, not exactly into the lake – more like, onto the lake. Nevertheless, it provided a picture-perfect Mother’s Day moment.
The water is still pretty cold these days and the snow fall on Sunday morning certainly didn’t help! We’ve had some pretty crazy weather lately but the weekend presented some serene moments to capture and embrace.
This is peace without…
…but I am convinced that peace within comes from knowing Jesus and applying His Word to my life.
One of the most amazing and hope-filled promises found anywhere in the Bible is in Isaiah 26.3. Here’s the verse in three translations.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. NIV
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and its character) is stayed on You, because he commits Himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You. AMP
People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, Steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. The Message
I memorized this verse in three versions about twenty years ago and I have pulled on this truth so many times since. The idea of fixing my mind on Him – remaining steadfast in Him and knowing that peace within comes from Him alone has grounded me through the most difficult and painful times.
Life is all about practising His presence.
