His Amazing Grace

This morning, as I was praying, I was reminded that grace is not opposed to effort – it’s opposed to earning.

There’s no scale balancing holiness and sin. There’s just His sustaining and sufficient grace. I am safe and secure in God’s hands. I don’t serve God and others to earn my place at the table because God isn’t interested in my performance – He looks at my heart. I serve because I have experienced His love and grace poured over my life and I want to obey.

I am free to serve and because Christ did it all on the cross, I want to give my all.

He’s the first place I want to run, the last place I want to leave and ultimately, the wing beneath my wings.

Tim Keller once said, “The more you see your own flaws and sins, the more precious, electrifying and amazing God’s grace appears to you.”

From the fullness of his grace, we have all received one blessing after another.          John 1.16
