Inspiration From The Younger Women

Since my book proposal was rejected two days ago, I have received some really encouraging emails and comments on the blog from dear friends and family.  I wanted to share with you a couple of precious messages sent by thirteen-year old girls involved in the  OVERFLOW group.  This is EXACTLY why I am writing a book about older and younger women getting together and “sharpening each other”. We need to do this more. Younger women need it.  Older women need it.  I know I need it. There is something so special about women of all ages intentionally coming together, sharing life experiences and stories, inspiring and lifting up each other.

Hi Diane,
I know your pretty down about the book publishing but God has an enormous plan for you. I was pretty shocked when you had a hard life when you were younger, (you’re still young 🙂
and I just wanted to say that your book will get published, maybe into a bigger or smaller or unknown or popular company,
God knows.
I just wanted to cheer you up because I think I understand how you feel, but just slightly since I wrote a short story & poem for a company too. Gloria

Don’t give up Diane! You’ve come so far and I know you can do it. I believe in you! It’s hard now, but something amazing will come out of this. It’s not over. God’s always on your side and so are the members of overflow (and the blog readers). Heck, if I didn’t think you could do it, I wouldn’t have come out to Beaverton! This is just a road bump. And I know you of all people can overcome it! :D Emily

Pretty cool, huh?  I am blessed to have such support from women in this OVERFLOW group, younger and older.

Our OVERFLOW group has been meeting together since last June.  The group has grown to fourteen women, ages 13 – 61 and we have had some crazy fun times together. I’ve blogged about OVERFLOW before and I will continue to spread the word because it works!

Monday is coming –  gotta’ get going on the book-writing again! Thanks to all who have spoken and written life-giving words to me the past few days!

“Whether you are a struggling writer or just studying to be one you probably know there is a lot of rejection in your future. But don’t be dismayed, rejection happens to the best. There is a list of 50 famous and well respected authors who were told no several times. Here is just a few: Dr. Seuss, James Joyce, Isaac Asimov, Pearl Buck, Louisa May Alcott, Agatha Christie, Zane Grey, William Faulkner, John Grisham & J. K. Rowlands, etc…the list goes on and on. You can check this out for yourself on: Don’t give up Diane….God does not make mistakes and he will guide and direct you path as you seek to honour Him by writing this book. Love Mrs. ‘B’.
