Nice Way To Start The Week

Chris and I recently received this precious letter from our grandson…by snail mail!

As much as I appreciated the art work, (apparently all the pictures are of “Skylander” characters)  I particularly enjoyed what seemed to be Phoenie’s incomplete message to Chris and I –  “I love you so much that I can’t imagine…” – so when he arrived last night for a fun week with Papak and Nana, I inquired about the sentence.  Phoenie responded immediately with, ” It means that I love you so much that I can’t imagine loving you so much.” That answer certainly made Chris and I smile.  It doesn’t get much better than that, does it?

This picture is definitely “hang on the refrigerator” material.

There’s no question – grand-parenting rocks.

Meanwhile, Chris and Phoenie were busy this morning, gathering together the bare minimum number of clothes needed, putting the canoe on top of the car, grabbing Phoenie’s favourite stuffed frog and packing some freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies for their road trip today – it’s guy time and they’re going camping for three days. Chris’ holidays have officially started today and he’s really looking forward to some rest – but I don’t think that will be happening until he and Phoenie return from their camping adventures. After all, these boys have big plans – canoeing, swimming, fishing, roasting marshmallows over an open fire, sleeping in a tent and lots of throwing the Frisbee as they frolic in the water. There will be no resting this week.

Talking about holidays –  just a heads up that I will be taking a week off from blogging, starting next Monday, July 30th – so I can enjoy a holiday week with Chris. We’re going to undertake a building project during the week and hopefully, get some good boating time in as well, exploring this lake in our back yard. I’ll be starting up the blog again on Monday, August 6th.

So, that’s that about that.
