Phoenie Has It Right

Chris and I have put all things Christmas and wedding away, except Dawne’s wedding dress – that will be hanging on the mirror for a couple more weeks.  Phoenie and I went sledding this morning but I am REALLY feeling tired  – I guess all the activity has finally caught up with me.  When Phoenie announced,  “Nana, I found a new friend” and he proceeded to share his sled with the little boy, I was quite content to lie on the top of the hill and watch the trees bending back and forth with the wind.  It was nice.

It made me think of an extraordinary moment that happened yesterday.  Chris and I took separate cars to the Science Centre and by the end of the day, we were so tired that we forgot to pick up our second car.  I remembered about twenty minutes too late so we turned the car around and headed south.   In a joking kind of way, Chris said, “could things get any worse???”  From the back seat, Phoenie immediately responded with “Yeah, it could, Papak.  You could die and not go to heaven.”

I’ll leave it at that.
