As you can see by the picture, I got myself some new long underwear for the weekend!
Mom also bought me some dry-quick T-shirts and shorts. They’re really comfortable.
Papak and I are going on a canoe trip today and I’m going to be ready for those cold nights in the tent.
Last night, Papak and Nana gave me an early birthday present. My birthday isn’t until October but Papak and Nana decided I needed some new camping gear. (I call them, “my new toys.”) I got a solar-powered frog that lights up (OK..not really necessary for camping but great for my frog collection) and a head flashlight. This will come in handy when I’m reading comics under the covers in my sleeping bag.
I also got my very own Backtrack GPS. I can mark where I am and then if I get lost, it shows what direction I need to go and how far I am away from my destination. I’m not sure how I’m going to use that on a canoe this weekend but maybe I can use it for geocaching next time we go. I also think it would be good for Nana to have one of these when she’s in the mall parking lots.
I also got some really good binoculars. I’ll be using them a lot this weekend. Maybe I’ll see a bear!
Nana and Papak also bought me a dry sac so that everything will stay dry if we fall out of the canoe. Maybe I need to be in one of those dry sacs too!
This morning, Nana made pancakes for me and then Papak and I started packing all the stuff we’re going to need. This is my first time portaging and I think it’s going to be really cool. I think there are going to be about 22 people going on this trip.
That’s all, folks! I’ll be Nana’s guest blogger on Monday and I’ll tell you all about my adventures!
By the way, Nana measured me last night and apparently, I’m shrinking!
This is Papak and I watching boat crashes on his phone, instead of packing.
