The quote above deeply touched my heart.
Believers in Christ are kings and queens in training. We have much to learn and much growing to do in order to be made fit for such a calling – that is our spiritual journey.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2.9
Our value is priceless. Our potential is limitless.
Proclaiming and honouring Jesus is what it’s all about – and one of the ways women can do this is loving each other well and “fixing each other’s crowns.”
Other women are not my competition.
Healthy, vibrant friendships are about standing by, praying for, laughing with, learning from, encouraging, lifting and celebrating each other.
I wrote a book about this – Sisters in the Son because ever since I was a little girl, I have been passionate about the deep and meaningful relationships God has given me with other woman. I have been been blessed and held up by older and younger women all my life and I desire to do the same for others – to the day I die.
This is who I am.
I welcome friendships, in which we fix each other’s crowns.
This morning, I read these verses and decided to memorize this truth. This is what I desire to do for others – to pray unceasingly for those I love to rise up and be women of substance, who are passionate to please God in every way, who bear fruit that honours Him and who joyfully give thanks to Him who has given them their very lives.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. As we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyful giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Colossians 1. 9-12
