No, no…you haven’t got your dates wrong.

But September IS just around the corner and I’m filled with expectation. This is a time of anticipation.Hello September Surprise meTime for a fresh start.

Ever since I was a little girl, September has marked the beginning of a new year. This is the month that heralds my favourite season and this is the time when walking into a Staples store just gets me excited — new notebooks and markers and erasers and binders . . . and I’m not even in school! 🙂

I wonder what God’s got in store for me this year.

One thing I know for sure — I want to be “all there” in the right places. I don’t want to miss a minute of the life God intends for me.

I don’t want to be distracted by the good and miss out on the best.

My schedule is cleared, there is no keep-doing-the-same-thing-because-that’s-what-I’m-supposed-to-do” busyness. I’m not looking to fill my fall calendar but I’m also acutely aware of not wasting my life.

So, I’m praying.

In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. Psalm 5.3

Praying about my days. My marriage. My family. My friendships. My commitments. My church.

Praying about my heart.

Hello September Surprise meLead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. Psalm 25.5
