Serving Others

I spoke to a group of young moms at their Christmas luncheon today. How can you tell, huh? Check out the phones and the baby gear on the table!

We had a great time together. Crafts, (love the pinecone owls) a delicious lunch, lots of laughs and tables full of chatter.

Wonderful moms. Beautiful babies.

Touching stories.

And of course, I had to borrow some babies. Felt so good. Thanks ladies, for lending me your children!

I told the humorous story of the homemade Christmas slippers my daughter made me many years ago — I still have them and I wear them with pride every December! Check out the story!

I always enjoy spending time with this group of young moms and incredibly gifted, loving volunteers from Sunrise Pregnancy and Family Support Services. I am blessed and challenged by the incredible fortitude of these young women and so amazed with the gifted women who volunteer in so many capacities week after week.

So, thank you for the invitation and another opportunity to spend a fun-filled morning with this group of stunning women.

Thank you more for the women who work tirelessly to come along side these young women and love them so well — behind the scenes, in childcare responsibilities and on the front line.

You are all an inspiration to me.

Christ has no body on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look out. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good; and yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now.  St. Teresa of Avila
