My daughter just loves “product” – you know…the new word for all the shampoos, creams, conditioners, gels, make up etc.
Yup – she just loves it all. The nicer the smell, the more product she buys. When she comes to visit for a weekend, she actually brings a mini suitcase filled with bottles, tubes, sprays and a wide assortment of pretty containers, filled with who knows what. I do believe that she uses more products in a month, than I do in a year!
One morning, I sat on the side of the tub and looked at all the paraphernalia in her suitcase – I don’t even know what most of this stuff does! I’ve never been much on makeup -in fact, I didn’t even start wearing blush until I was over 50 years old! However, Dawne has taught me a thing or two so I’m a little more confident with the mascara and eye shadow these days.
Last weekend, Chris and I were visiting Dawne and her family and early Saturday morning, I headed into the shower. The entire shower stall was lined up with numerous bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It felt like I was in a spa, with all these interesting shaped bottles and lovely smelling products. Of course, I didn’t wear my glasses in the shower and without them, it was tough for me to read labels but I didn’t have any trouble distinguishing the word, “shampoo” from the word, “conditionner” so I proceeded to wash my hair.
When I got out of the shower, I dried off, pulled on some jeans and a T-shirt, put my glasses on, gathered all my stuff and headed out. As I was opening the bathroom door, I looked down at the shampoo bottle that I used and let out a loud gasp.
I just washed my hair with dog shampoo. I hadn’t noticed the picture of the dog because I was so busy looking for the letters, S-H-A-M-P-O-O.
I had to laugh – it was a funny beginning to a great day…and my husband did mention that I had a shiny coat all day!
